Sierra Stream: “Fund Our Need”
During the 2013-14 school year, Yuba River Charter School launched an expeditionary field studies program for our 7th and 8th grade students. Administration made this outside education program a priority in the expansion of our upper grades curriculum offerings. We have been delighted by what the Sierra Streams Institute has brought to our students. We feel this is important science and nature studies learning to offer to all YRCS students. Help us expand this opportunity to all grades 1st through 8th!
We need you to help us “Fund Our Need!”
We need to expand the Sierra Streams outdoor science education program beyond our 7th and 8th grades, benefiting all of our students. Our cost to do so is $16,000.
“Fund Our Need” Goals
1) Raise $16,000 at Moondance as follows: The first $4,000 we raise at the Moondance “Fund Our Need” Global Auction will fund the introductory level of Sierra Streams’ outdoor education and nature studies field trips for grades 1 – 8.
2) Then, continue to raise $12,000 more at Moondance, with a dollar-to-dollar match up to $6,000, to fund a graduated, intensive field studies program for grades 5 – 8. We will fund this portion of the program beginning with 8th grade, down through 5th grade, based upon our fundraising success.
3) Implement this program each and every year so all YRCS students benefit from a cumulative study that builds upon each year’s program course work.
Let’s reach our goal of $16,000! Ask grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and community friends to contribute to our expanded science curriculum for our children!
