Children must have their fifth birthday by October 1st of their enrollment year (2013-14) then be 5 years of age by Nov. 1st (2014-15). Children move on to grade one when their sixth birthday falls before spring (March/early April). Therefore some children spend one year, others two, in the kindergarten.
