Krissa has been part of Yuba River Charter School for 30 years, first as a dedicated parent, then balancing both parent and employee roles, and now as a full-time Operations Manager. Her journey at YRCS began with a deep belief in Waldorf education and a desire to provide a meaningful educational experience for her daughters. When an opportunity to work at the school arose, she embraced it—and she has been an integral part of the YRCS community ever since. With a degree in Computer Technology and a background that includes scholarships to the San Francisco Academy of Art, Krissa brings a unique blend of technical skill, creativity, and organizational expertise to her work. She approaches each day with fresh eyes, ready to tackle new challenges, and finds joy in the community, students, and colleagues who make YRCS a special place.

For Krissa, the best part of her job is the unexpected laughter that happens throughout the day—whether with students or staff. She loves that her work is both challenging and fun, especially when she gets to watch students learn and grow. Originally from Pleasant Hill, CA, she spends her free time immersed in art, nature, and cherished moments with her daughters and grandchildren. A lifelong Star Trek fan, she believes in the power of curiosity, exploration, and lifelong learning.

Krissa’s motto is “Laughter makes you live longer!” If she could have lunch with anyone, it would be J.R.R. Tolkien—to gain insight into his brilliant mind, the depth of his storytelling, and the incredible worlds he created. Krissa is honored to be part of the YRCS family and continues to support the school with dedication, heart, and a sense of adventure.
