The Yuba River Charter School is nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices, and all other operations.  YRCS is a public school and will not charge tuition and will not discriminate against any pupil on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or any other basis protected by law.

Enrolling a Student at YRCS Nursery/Preschool Program

The  Little Creek Nursery program is nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices, and all other operations. Little Creek Nursery is a privately funded (tuition based) program and will not discriminate against any pupil on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or any other basis protected by law.

1st Step: Attend a Parent Info Meeting (PIM):

All parents and/or guardians interested in enrolling a child into Yuba River Charter School or Little Creek Nursery program are invited to attend one of our  Parent Information Meetings (PIMs). Attending a PIM is required before receiving an Application for Enrollment in all programs. During this meeting you will learn about the history of Yuba River Charter School, the philosophy and educational approach of a public Waldorf curriculum, the operational structure of YRCS, as well as enjoy a guided tour of our classrooms as you see the teachers and students engaged in daily activities.

YRCS accepts and serves all students, including students who are English learners and whose parents/guardians are not proficient in English. Further, YRCS will use information families provide about their English proficiency only to identify services for the student and it will not affect enrollment eligibility.  YRCS welcomes non-U.S. citizens, students with disabilities, low-income students, and students who are struggling academically or require additional academic supports. YRCS uses a public random drawing “lottery” for enrolling students and only turns away students when there are no seats available.  For concerns regarding our school’s Title IX compliance, contact Karin Meadows, karin@yubariverschool.org, 530-272-6060 x106.
