Practical Arts & Games
Mr. Bell has been an integral part of YRCS for over 20 years, guiding students in Practical Arts and Movement—mostly outside, where hands-on learning thrives. With a background as a Whitewater Guide and Snow Ranger, he brings a deep connection to nature and adventure into his teaching. His journey into education was a bit of karmic irony—as a student, he gave his teachers a hard time, and now he’s dedicated to bringing Waldorf education to the next generation. He approaches his work with a sense of fun and presence, making each lesson engaging, active, and meaningful.
What he loves most about his job is the flow of working with different ages and activities throughout the day, keeping things dynamic and exciting. His favorite moment? Morning drop-off—the start of a fresh new day filled with possibility.
Originally from California’s Central Valley, Mr. Bell spends his free time immersed in nature and cherishing time with family. Whether on the river, in the mountains, or exploring the great outdoors, his passion for movement and the natural world continues to inspire both his students and himself.
