Expanded Learning Educational Specialist
Meghan Sullivan joined YRCS in August 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in youth recreation, after-school programs, summer camps, and youth sports. With a degree in Biological Anthropology from UCLA (Go Bruins!), she spent much of her career in local government recreation, specializing in engaging and enriching youth programs. After taking a few years off following the birth of her third daughter, Meghan was looking for the perfect part-time opportunity—and she found it in YRCS Yuba Streams! She believes that aaftercare is just as important and impactful as the regular school day, and she approaches her role with creativity, flexibility, and a deep commitment to student connection.
Her favorite part of the day is anytime she can make a meaningful connection with a student, helping to create a supportive and engaging environment beyond the classroom. She loves the creative and supportive work culture at YRCS and is excited to be part of the school community.
Originally from Sonoma, CA, Meghan has a passion for reading, traveling, hiking, and camping with her family. A fun fact? She once bungee jumped over the Nile River! Her favorite book is East of Eden (or really, anything by John Steinbeck), and if she could share a meal with anyone from history, it would be Ruth Bader Ginsburg—a true icon of resilience and justice.
