Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) at YRCS

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) provides funding for before and after-school care and enrichment opportunities for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade. Our goal is to support families by offering safe, engaging, and accessible programs that extend the school day.

Free Programs for Qualifying Students

ELOP is available at no cost for students who are:

  • Foster youth
  • Experiencing homelessness
  • Eligible for free or reduced-price meals

If your child qualifies, they are guaranteed a spot in ELOP free of charge.

Family Fees for Non-Qualifying Students

After all eligible students have been offered access, we may enroll additional students. For those not in the categories above:

  • A family fee may be charged based on a sliding scale aligned with income and ability to pay.
  • Families may self-certify if they qualify for a fee waiver.
  • No child will ever be turned away because of inability to pay.

How Fees Are Used

Any fees collected are used only for:

  • ELOP activities and enrichment programs
  • Direct services to children
  • Program administration
  • Fees must be used within the same year they are collected, and records are carefully tracked to remain in compliance with state guidelines.
