AB 104 PUPIL INSTRUCTION: RETENTION, GRADE CHANGES AND EXEMPTIONS

Recent California legislation allows for students who did not demonstrate satisfactory academic progress during the 2020-2021 school year to seek support.

Students in grades K-7 during the 2020-2021 school year with unsatisfactory letter grades of BB (Below Basic) or FB (Far Below Basic) for at least one-half of their coursework in the core subjects (e.g., math and language arts) may request to have a consultation meeting with the school to discuss being retained in the previous grade level.

If you are interested in requesting such support in the 2021-2022 school year, please contact the school to schedule a meeting to discuss your request and next steps. Please understand that a consultation meeting to discuss retention does not guarantee that your student will be retained.
