Angel Wahl has been a part of Yuba River Charter School for five years, bringing extensive experience in early childhood education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development, an Early Childhood Teaching Credential, and a Director-level certification. Her journey at YRCS began during COVID-19 when she cared for staff children after initially interviewing for the preschool position. As the preschool remained closed, she transitioned into a school-age role, then a kindergarten assistant position, and ultimately achieved her goal of reopening the preschool. Angel deeply cherishes the YRCS community, from the children and families to the Waldorf philosophy. She approaches each day with an open mind, greeting the children with warmth, patience, and kindness, hoping to nurture those same qualities in them. For her, being at YRCS is like heaven on earth. Free play is her favorite part of the school day, where she loves observing children use their imaginations, develop social skills, and make new discoveries.

Born in New Hampshire and raised in Huntington Beach, Angel transitioned from a beach life to becoming a country girl in Nevada County. She has a deep love for the outdoors, gardening, and horseback riding. She has climbed Mount Lassen twice and frequently visits the coast and Southern California to see family. A skilled crafter, she enjoys crochet, sewing, and felting. Many might be surprised to learn that Angel raised five children and was a ballerina in her younger years. She lives on 12 acres in Rough and Ready with her family and English Springer Spaniels, whom she raises and trains. Her guiding principle is simple: Be kind. If she could share a meal with anyone, it would be Maya Angelou, whose wisdom and words have always spoken to her heart.
