Health and Safety Aide
& Aftercare
With a background in nursing, early childhood education, and trauma-informed care, Josie brings both compassion and expertise to her role as a Health & Safety Aide. Her journey into this field was a blend of both passion and opportunity—she felt called to the work and naturally found her way to Yuba River Charter School. She deeply resonates with Waldorf philosophy and appreciates the holistic and nurturing environment it provides for children.
Josie’s approach to her work is rooted in flexibility and patience, ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and cared for. She loves the connections she builds with students across different grades and the variety each day brings. She embraces each moment with the understanding that “everything is temporary,” a philosophy that helps her navigate challenges with grace and resilience.
Originally from Watsonville, CA, with roots in Mexico, Josie finds joy in movement and nature. Whether she’s working out, practicing yoga and dance, spending time at Yuba River, gardening, or enjoying the beach, she lives life with energy and presence.
