24 May Medieval Games Thanks!
On May 11, the sixth grade class of Yuba River Charter School hosted the Medieval Games. For this event, seven schools from as far away as Meadow Vista, Sacramento, and Chico sent their own sixth graders to compete in medieval competitions of skill and bravery. The king and king were in attendance and, at the end of the day, many a brave competitor was knighted. By all accounts, the event was a roaring success.
An event such as this is a massive endeavor and requires a great deal of support. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many individuals and community businesses that supported us, donating and/or discounting their goods and services or helping out at the games, themselves. Thank you Briar Patch, Safeway, Natural Selections, B & C, Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Raley’s, Mountain Bounty Farm, Cheri’s Hand Dipped Ice Cream, Kim Bacon, Jacob Aginsky, Sierra Cinemas, Emily’s Catering, Bubba’s Bagels, and Grocery Outlet. Thank you also to our royal court and musicians who generously donated their time and talent: Erik Bell, Kate Haight, Krissa Sutherland, Nicholas Ingersoll, Anne Merdinger, Dominique Parducci, and Nici van Kriedt. Thank you to all of the sixth grade parents who put in countless hours. Finally, the most royal of thank yous to the Jacobson family who hosted us on their beautiful grounds. Thank you all for making this experience such a magical and memorable one for our children. We are so lucky to live in such a supportive community.
Jessica Druding, Alicia Lacoste, and the YRCS sixth grade class.
