02 May Message from Board of Directors
Dear Yuba River Charter School Community,
As of 6:15 p.m. today, May 2, 2018, Ron Charles is no longer serving as the School Director at Yuba River Charter School, and he will not be returning to the School in any employment capacity for the 2018-2019 school year. We wish Mr. Charles the best in all future endeavors.
Over the past few months, we have carefully listened to and considered the input and feedback of the School families, staff, and faculty. We have not made this decision lightly. While we understand that many of you would like additional details regarding this matter, please understand that neither the Board nor School staff can provide detailed factual responses to personnel inquiries due to the School’s legal obligation to protect the privacy rights of its employees, both current and former. Nevertheless, the Board would like to assure all School stakeholders that Board actions are guided first and foremost by what is lawful and in the best interests of the School, its students, and stakeholders.
We are working with School community leaders and outside experts to oversee the tasks at hand and the Board does not anticipate any problems in finishing out the school year strong. We know that this has been a difficult time for our School community. We ask that you support the school in moving forward and undertaking the work of planning for a bright future that serves the betterment of our entire School community as we begin our transition to the new campus with a clean slate. While we are confident that the School will continue to operate effectively as we deal with the transition in leadership, please be assured that the Board members are available as needed if any stakeholder has concerns.
