18 Nov TB Test Requirements Have Changed

Dear Employees,
New State of California legislation now gives school employees and volunteers the option of undergoing a tuberculosis risk assessment rather than having a TB test in order to work or volunteer at the school. This new law will be in effect January 1, 2015 and while we still don’t know what the risk assessment will look like, it most likely will be a questionnaire and exam given by a health professional . We are hoping this is a service the school nurse can provide to our school.
This is a change that will be welcomed by many of you. I will keep you all updated as I get more information.
